not so bad after all

Still alive, I am. Although jeeeeezus I was broken when I got home on Friday. My back hurt, my feet hurt, everything hurt. Hadn't had time to shower. All my clothes were wet and dirty. Jip jip!

A short summary : the camp was indeed lots of driving around and wanking with the mortars. All in all, it was probably the easiest camp we've had with the Light Mortars to date : not to say it wasn't a hell on earth anyway, but at least it wasn't all that bad. We did pack and unpack those fuckin' trucks roughly 5-6 times each day, but hey...we got pretty good at it. It started snowing, incidentally. Snow sucks. Don't let anyone tell you any different : snow is wet, therefore, snow sucks.

The kompaniets styrkemätning was quite horrible, but luckily not as horrible as I had envisioned. No mortars, no extra gear : just a standard 23 km march followed by a night in the forest, and then a 10 km forced march (under less than 2 hours to be completed, no pauses). It started and ended with a shooting. Apparently, the point was to see how well we shot before this evilness, and how well we shot afterwards.

Man I hate marching. But now....some TJs:

March TJ = 0
G-forest TJ = 0
Syndalen TJ = 0
Jurmo/islands TJ = 0

***************
MORTAR TJ = 13

Oh, incidentally : on Friday, there was an accident in Rovajärvi where a heavy mortar (the 120 mm kind) exploded, killing one and injuring 6. The reason for the explosion isn't clear yet, but...well...fuck, I always knew the fuckers were unstable bitches. Here's to those wounded in the Finland's war of conscriptive stupidity. *raises glass of coke*
