I had an odd night of flashbacks last night: I saw a band that hasn't released an album in 11 years while standing next to a guy I haven't seen in 18 years.
The band was Sebadoh. They've gone on a few tours over the last couple of years, so I'm hoping that there will eventually be a new album. However, the band members are all involved in multiple projects, so I'm not holding my breath. The show was great, even though I had to duck out a few minutes early to catch a bus home. They really know how to rock for guys in their 40's.
The guy was Mike B. Mike and I went to middle and high school together in a small town approximately 3,000 miles from here - I haven't seen him since. Thanks to the internet, we recently learned that we both live in Seattle now. It was great to catch up a little bit (although difficult to do in between sets at a rock concert). Of course, we're both completely different people than we were in those days, but I still think we'd get along. Maybe some things really don't change, after all.
