Lol, I wouldn't have thought of an alien or anything x-files seeing the picture x) But then neither am I very fond of swimming pictures. Swimming just doesn't do for me, maybe it's recollections from my childhood, dunno, and swimmers with their terrible clothes and those caps and glasses... I don't know.
It's also their build. The movement of their bodies is very appealing, but out of the water they look somewhat deformed with those overly broad shoulders...

It's too cold a sport, too much skin, everything is too much in plein sight and yet you can't truly appreciate the warmth, the tension and the energy coming from the athlet's body because it is turned into this deadly cold pale blue by the water...

I am not into swimming too, I was just doing morning press and looking at the pictures from last 24 hours; I like the shot; the photographer caught the moment; water is really difficult to be photographed and the form it got on this pic is just awesome.

True. You know, isn't it al the water that's come up when his head came out the water? so it's a lot like a mask falling of his face, heh.
It's fascinating in a kind of distanced manner, but personally I just don't find it engaging, lol ;p I suppose I only like pictures that shout to me or shake me, haha x)

*giggles* I do accept! :) I love your opinions :) as I said - it's ok :) and it's nice to know your opinion on swimming - I've never thought about swimmers that way, maybe because I do not care much about swimming ;)
