So I need cheering up, and I shall do this by contemplating the magnificence of my own LJ. Courtesy of
miss_morland.
1. First fic
Fierce and Awful Grace, one-sided Polly/Jadis. Actually, the
untitled Gospel of Nichodemus fic predates it, but a) it also predates this LJ and b) it's only JUST barely fanfic.
2. Last fic
But a patch'd fool: bare: a pop opera fic, Matt POV.
3. Kinkiest fic
There are a few shades of dominance here and there, but I nominate
Non et Sic, for inksmut and teacher/student dynamic. And medieval in jokes, which are my biggest kink.
4. Fic that was the most fun to write
Artistic License, cowritten via gchat with
agenttrojie. Unbelievably good fun.
5. Fic that was the most challenging to write
A Squire With Prospects, definitely.
6. Best fic written as a gift or for an exchange
As above. Although
Words for Your Companions, my birthday present for K, was also pretty damn awesome.
7. Most well-received fic
I would like it to be something in
Men of Honour- certainly, that series found me some great friends and gave rise to
edmund_caspian. But by sheer volume of comments, it's actually
What's In It For The Warlock. Merlin fandom is a tart, apparently.
8. Most overlooked fic
Words for Your Companions, but that's because I can't find a community in which to pimp L.M. Montgomery genfic. If you've read the later Anne books (Anne of Ingleside, Rainbow Valley, Rilla of Ingleside), I hereby guilt-trip you into reading it.
The fic which I personally consider Very Bloody Good, had pimped out in all the relevant comms, and am surprised at the low feedback on, is
Here and Now, Susan and Edmund in England post VOTD.
9. Fic that came with the best bunny
Thats, um, a completely heywire comparision to make. But let's nominate
Blessed Wiles, in which Aziraphale and Crowley do not Make The Effort.
10. Personal favourite of the year
Oh, gods. Hard choice. No, I give up.
The best three examples of my writing, IMHO, are
The Lady of the House (Lucy post LWW),
Here and Now (Susan, Ed, post VOTD), and
A Squire With Prospects. The best porn is elsewhere, but the best prose is in these three, and also the best intellectual engagement with canon and with the fandom interpretive community.
11. Fic/idea/fest/pairing you're most excited about for 2009
I think the Susan/Caspian I promised for Lucy? Or maybe the Arthurian femslash... or the Dogma femslash... *considers*
