I always felt guilty that I found Susan's cleavage in that scene mildly distracting. It's just so noticeable and as they're having their deep conversation I keep thinking to myself "Andrew Adamson must really like her boobs, look at that angle, wtf is he doing, there has to have been a better way to shoot that".

I maintain there's a SRS reason for the heaving breasts every time they talk about england or something similar. They're there to remind us that Susan is Growing UP.

...

also to be ogled.

I think it's deliberate- every time they talk about England you get a really clear shot of Susan's boobs. I think it's there to remind you that Susan's growing up...

Pretty damn insidious, IMO. Or maybe it's to keep the boys in the theatre interested in the exposition.

It's to establish her as a marriageable woman, the kind of noblewoman who has Great Big Tracts of Land... *beams*

Also perhaps to keep pervy people like myself and Lass and presumably some men entertained :P.

It MUST be a deliberate decision, though, because of the costuming: Anna's always been well-endowed, but her outfits in the first movie went out of their way to look as if she'd not yet conquered her tracts of land (er, this metaphor is getting strained... like Susan's bodice...).
