Woot! We are now on day 3 of my little celebration. I added it up last night and I've written over 15k since Thursday! That was my target goal by Sunday, I have to admit, because of the 15 year anniversary. So I met target already. *twirls and dances with y'all* I'm planning to keep going, of course. Short Fic doesn't seem to be on my Muse's mind

Harry/Ron/Hermione: And combinations therein. They are probably my canon OTP (I don't care what JKR says, Harry wants to see Ron & Hermione the most, even more than Ginny, so they're totally canon *puts fingers in ears and goes lalalala*). I just love the friendship and dynamic that exists between all three of them and can be broken down whether it's H/Hr, R/Hr or R/H.
Blaise/Hermione: There's an edge to this ship that I've loved even when I was writing Blaise as a pretty Italian loner with indigo eyes (OMG indigo...seriously...WTF Inell?) and seeing him in HBP just made him even more real and dynamic to me and actually supported a lot of what my idea of him already was. There's a dynamic with Hermione that can be romantic, in it's own way, and they're both intelligent and stubborn and challenge each other a lot in ways I love to explore, whether sexually or romantically.
Charlie/Hermione: I know some people think it doesn't make sense, but I think it does. Whether it's sexy ladie's man fanon!Charlie or the not such a ladie's man but caretaking glimpse we see of canon Charlie, I think there's a balance there that's interesting. They have some similar interests in terms of magical creatures and taking care of people, and I think Charlie would be a good balance for Hermione.
Bill/Hermione: There's always been something about these two that I felt could make them plausible. I like a smartass Bill who can keep up with Hermione intellectually and is a bit rough and keeps her on her toes. Confident, intelligent, competent, and very sexy.
Gah! Only one more? Geesh. This is tough. I'm trying to approach it in terms of "if I could only write these five ships, what would make me the happiest if forced to limit myself".
Pansy/Hermione: I enjoy the dynamic a lot and the differences between them. I like snarky Pansy and bossy Hermione. There's dynamic in canon they have to deal with to make sense, and that adds depth to what you can write about. I like the differences and I enjoy exploring the relationship they could have.
This was so unfair, Roz! I couldn't even mention Viktor/Hermione, Fred/Hermione/George, Kingsley/Hermione, Adrian/Hermione, Draco/Harry/Hermione, Luna/Hermione, Cormac/Hermione, Sirius/Hermione, or any number of others I absolutely love for one reason or another. :P
2. I don't know! LOL I just adore her. I think what I like about her is that she's smart, because I've got a bit of an intelligence kink, and clever in a way, but there are also things she doesn't know or isn't good at it. Book smarts but not so much people smarts all the time, if that makes sense. She's very loyal, devoted to a point where I could honestly see her going too far to protect someone she loves (hey, we see it in canon with her memory modification of her parents and with leading Umbridge to centaurs etc.). She's ruthless, in a way, yet also very caring. It's such an interesting character to explore because we are given personality (via Harry's POV) of someone who could do so many different things as they get older. I really love that she can make sense with so many different characters in a shippy way without it feeling forced or unbelievable. I like that I can honestly imagine her in a dozen or more careers that would fit her personality without it seeming OOC. I like that she's obviously pretty enough to get Viktor's attention but doesn't care about silly things like that when there's more to learn and she's got higher priorities. I like that she's the most known Muggleborn in canon but actually probably knows more about the wizarding world than the Muggle world by the end of the book because she's sort of chosen a path that's cut herself off from her past, and that's also interesting to explore.
Does any of that make sense? LOL

Thank you for the great answer; this is definitely the Hermione I see in your stories. And as for question one, I would hardly have chastized you for expounding on Viktor/Hermione and a few more ships. ;) Interesting to see which are your favourite ships, because you write so many and so varied from different people's prompts that it's not obvious at a glance which you love the best, yourself. I don't think any of them were a real surprise to me, though, except Pansy/Hermione, but that may be simply because I pay better attention to your het fics and pairings. (And I would probably have guessed Hermione/Charlie as your number one ship! But Trio makes perfect sense.) ♥

You know, this talking about fics and characters is jogging my memory about fics I forgot when I was making my top ten yesterday. You wrote a gen sort of origin/background story for Blaise, The Choices We Make, that was gorgeous and insightful (and I even pre-read it, so no excuse why it slipped my mind). And the Mediterranean flavour of that one reminded me of a Pansy/Hermione story of yours, L'Ile des Deuxiemes Chances, that was also great and one of my favourites of yours and made me like Pansy, which is no mean feat! See, I do read other stuff than het sometimes. *g*
