so our office is moving to a new campus down the street in a few months and they're allowing us to use the gym there, which is pretty cool.  so, i decided to make the most of it and took a late lunch and went for a run.  despite the heat and serious wind off the bay i did really well. i did my 4 miles in ~29 minutes! I was shocked. I think that because i normally do a lot of trails which are more technical and difficult, getting on the streets really increases my speed. (trail running is considered muscle building.  it's like lifting weights except running while you do it) my last trail run i did really well on, placing 4th female overall so i guess i shouldn't be surprised, but it still seems weird.  i might have to go and drive out the route to get a better sense of the distance.  we'll see.

either way, it's cool.  i like this running over lunch thing. it's pretty nice and gives me a good boost of energy in the afternoon.  maybe i'll even eat less junk food and drink fewer diet cokes now.  plus, ben and i have decided to do the rock'n'roll 1/2 marathon in october, so i have to keep motivated. woo whoo!
