And I guess it's hard not to feel stripped of everything you stand for every once in a while. Especially with how the world is working out right now... there aren't a lot of places to turn to for individuality. Everyone seems to just hate to conform into what they are labeled as but in the end... those labels are what make us who we are but who really holds true to these labels? If you really break it down... there are no true Vegetarians or Vegans. Whether it concerns your eating habits or the clothing you wear or companies you support. You are contributing to death in the past or the future and the only thing you can really do is try to be aware to the best of your abilities. We're all human... lalala... we make mistakes (Gotta love those movie tunes). So where am I going with this entry? A friend of mine recently told me how he can't stand Vegans because it is so popular to be one. I haven't met any Vegans to date besides the LJ kids that run around making stupid journal entries and then posting about their shopping spree at the Body Shop the next day but that's besides the point... I haven't met any. Maybe it's because normal people don't run around discussing their eating habits with complete strangers but what's normal anyways? What annoys me is how people don't get how hard it is to stick to these life long diet changes. It's not easy being Vegetarian... it's not easy being Vegan. I'm living proof of both. You can not stick to being Vegan because it is "cool". I don't care what anyone says. You must have extreme will power to go Vegan in order to fit in. I don't think anyone has that much power within them. But I'd love to challenge anyone that is reading this right now...

For the next 24 hours, I'd like you to avoid the following:
1. Dairy - i.e. milk, cheese, etc.
2. Eggs.
3. Meat - fish, chicken, red meat, etc.
4. Honey, etc.

Just anything that could potentially come from animals. Try it out for yourself and tell me how long you survived. I bet most you would end up crying at the end of the day out of frustration or even just hunger. Being vegan or vegetarian aren't trends. Trends you buy at stores and you wear out in a few months. It's just not that simple.

Side Note: New trend is to have animals in your LJ icon.
