With the exception of the theme song to Freakazoid and most shorts involving the Warner brothers (and the Warner sister), most of the prominent mid-nineties Warner Bros. cartoons were utter crap.
Their writers --like those of too many other cartoons of the time, seemingly-- resorted to political humor or hollywood in-jokes to get by after running out of actual funny, and thereby lost the kids and dated the show.
Really, how funny are jokes about presidential candidates ten years after those candidates didn’t win? How about little toss off spoofs of minor movies that were oscar bound that year because of some industry technicality, but that were otherwise forgettable?
Sad, really.
