I'm pretty much... well, tired of moving. We found a place in Austin almost immediately, so the remainder of our time has been waiting around to inhabit our new place and imposing ourselves on various friends and family members. And while I'd like to not sound ungrateful, we haven't had a comfortable night's sleep in quite a while. Kendra of course is getting the short end of the stick. Everywhere we go, she's meeting people for the first time which is its own brand of stress. Add into that the fact that it's been nearly a month now since either of us has had actual alone time (away from each other) and I'm impressed that everything is going as smoothly as it is.
But as of August 4th, we'll finally get to sleep in our new apartment in our own bed. Granted, it'll be on a bed frame we haven't used before, but the privacy alone will be worth it.
Unfortunately, there's still the moving in to be done. I've got to make a new round of harassing calls to my friends to see who all I can bully, beg, or badger into helping out. I seem to have hurt my heel somehow and I've been limping for the last couple of days. I'm concerned that it won't be better by Wednesday, but somehow we'll survive (did I leave out my sympathy plea for help?)
At any rate, we should be in Denton again Monday evening and in Austin on Tuesday. Our stuff will either be arriving Tuesday night to be moved in on Wednesday, or on Wednesday for immediate unloading. Huge thanks are due to Kendra's dad for driving the truckload down from Seattle. Hopefully, I'll see some of you soon.
