I rewatched part 1 before watching part 2, for no real reason than to experience the show 'completed.'
Jensen's delivery of his line when he finds Ash just slays me every time.
I was really annoyed when I saw JDM's name in the opening credits. I adore him, I really do, but seeing his name was a spoiler and as a result I found myself watching for him rather than just letting him turn up.
If the show hadn't been renewed, I could be happy with this ending. Not happy it had gone, but happy with how it went.
There's so much great emotional stuff in this ep: Dean and Sam pretty much all the time, and Dean and Bobby especially in the junk yard scene.
Dean's complete inability to lie to Sam about what he did.
I found it interesting that 2 different characters commented on Dean's self esteem issues and the way he views himself and his place in the world. Damn, that boy needs some serious therapy.
I'm sure I've got other things to say, but right now, still not too coherent.
Also, I think I will get a couple of Australian postcards and send to Dawn Ostroff ( from the CW) and thank her for renewing our show. I was already toying with the idea, when I saw a mention of spn_postcards. Maybe we should all writet to Kripke as well to say thanks for the awesome episode.
I was all set to rewatch part 2 as soon as it finished, but I decided to save it for tomorrow, when it will no doubt be raining and I will be conserving the last 4% of my bandwidth.
