helike darling! Today made me once again realize just how small this world is. I was browsing through a world map (yeah, I'm weird)) and noticed just how close your home city is to the German border. Then I looked closer and noticed that it's actually only about 50km away from the home village of one of my friends from uni! And now this is giving me all kinds of ideas... *is making plans to surprise you at night* XDDD
And to make this post not completely pointless I'll just post some fic I wrote for
penombrelilas's
drabble tag.^^
title: The Warmth of Winter
pairing: slight SasuNaru
warning: hand holding, snow where it shouldn't fall
summary: Sometimes Sasuke really isn't sure why he came back.
author's note: Beware! I was possessed by a sugar demon when I wrote this. The prompt I used was "Snow".
The fucking snow was everywhere. He could feel his frustration rise as the wetness started seeping into his shoes and travel up into his pants. He really should have gotten used to it after two weeks of constant snow and cold but today had consisted of a particular annoying mission, that he just knew couldn’t have been more than D-ranked, which destroyed even his last bit of calm. Sometimes being the black sheep of the village really sucked.
Continuing on his way to the Hokage tower he glared at everyone who dared to pass his way and tried to mentally steel himself about his meeting with the Rokudaime knowing he was probably going to be on the receiving end of a maddening smirk yet again. Not that you could actually see the smirk behind that damn mask anyway.
Sometimes he really asked himself why he had even come back to Konoha when he was so clearly not welcomed by anyone. Maybe he should just leave and become a traveling monk somewhere in Earth country. It would at least be more quiet.
“Hey bastard, wait up!” Great. First the snow and now the idiot. His life really couldn’t get any better than this!
“What do you want, dobe?” He knew resistance or avoidance was senseless when dealing with Naruto so he pretty much always gave in right away these days. Not that he would tell anyone about that.
“Oi, don’t call me that!” Sasuke sighed and turned to look at his companion only to roll his eyes at the orange earmuffs and the red scarf. That idiot really was colour blind.
“Anyway, I wanted to ask if you‘re up for some training. The last time I so completely whooped your ass you obviously need it. “ His blue eyes were bright and he was grinning in that stupid way of his. He was so different from all the white that surrounded them that it almost hurt to look at him.
All in all he looked like a dork.
“Heh, as if you could dead last. And even if I wanted to, I can’t. I have to deliver my mission report to the Hokage.” At that Sasuke glared at said report as if it had personally offended him. And really, it kind of did! The last Uchiha really shouldn’t be forced to help the local kindergarten with their fingerprinting project.
Naruto tilted his head to the side and looked at the report as well and a contemplating expression shone in his eyes. Sasuke could feel a slight shiver going down his spine that most certainly had nothing to do with the cold.
“You know Sasuke…you really shouldn’t go out without mittens in this kind of weather! You’ll freeze your hands off!” He couldn’t help it. Sasuke just stared at him and silently asked himself just why this guy was called his best friend. Then he turned around and started on his way to the tower again.
“Ah, no wait you bastard! Don’t just walk away!” And then he made a grab for Sasuke’s hand to keep him from going any further.
“I mean, really! Why do you always have to run away? Do you have some mental block that forbids you to stay in one place for a longer period of time or something? That’s really not normal you know!”
During all that he hadn’t let go of Sasuke’s hand. His wool mittens were softer than his hand could ever have been and his grip was strong.
“What the hell are you talking about? I told you I have somewhere to be didn’t I?”
Naruto frowned before his face brightened, “Then I’m just going to come with you! I’ll wait in the hallway and after that we’ll go train.”
“If you want to waste your time like that.” Sasuke replied and turned to walk off again. There was a hint of a smile on his face though and somehow the day didn’t seem all that bad anymore.
“Oh shut up! You can even treat me to some ramen later!”
As they made their way through the snow their hands didn’t let go of each other and the cold didn’t touch them.
