So- big things I missed: Doctor Who and Torchwood (no excuse really- they were there for a long time, but I kept missing them), Stargate panels (damn flight delays- but I did see them all from a distance and I shook Amanda Tapping's hand), Supernatural signing.
Things I caught:
Sanctuary panel- which looked interesting. I'll definitely catch an episode or two whenever they start. After, I went up to the table and shook Amanda Tapping's hand. She was so sweet!
Supernatural panel- They were great. First, they showed us THE FIRST FIVE MINUTES of season 4. And yes, the boys were just as gorgeous as they look on TV. They were funny and charming and everything you want when you've woken up at six to see them. And I close enough to the screen to see them clearly.
The signing was ridiculous and I am so pissed at Warner Bros. They messed up and took people from the back of the group to form a line because of the mob, so even though my friend waited for me for TWO hours, the people who were there for ten minutes got to get stuff signed but not us. I wanted to cry but thankfully did not.
Smallville- Allison Mack is adorable, and everyone thought so. I'm not a huge fan of the show, but she was funny and sweet and made me want to watch it. Plus it looks like they might be going in an interesting direction.
Primeval- Looked interesting- will check out an episode.
Eureka- Oh man, I want to adopt Colin Ferguson and the rest of the cast and have them keep me laughing forever! I LOVED them, they were great, and the new season looks great.
Simpsons and Futurama- Everyone has to see this year's treehouse special- election goodness- and the new futurama movie. But all in all, the panels were kinda downers because they only had Q and A, and no voice actors showed up for Simpsons.
Dr. Horrible- Didn't attend the panel, but I got to see Whedon and the cast introduce the movie, they watched it with us for a while, and then thanked us for watching, and all I can say is- What would NPH do?
Tori Amos- Really nice. Awesome comic on her songs.
Ray Bradbury- He's so old this might be his last one, so I'm glad I got to see him this time.
Buffy the musical episode- yay!
Friday the 13th- I will not watch it, most likely, couldn't even get through the trailer, but it was definitely scary and gory if you like that kind of thing.
All in all it was a wonderful weekend. Yeah, I missed some stuff, but I'd rather have spent that time with the people I was there with, and well- I couldn't get a hotel room or flight earlier. At one point it was a choice between seeing Who and helping to host a speaking event where someone who was disappeared and tortured got a chance to share his experience, and as much as I love Barrowman et al.- that one man in a small room gave a survival story that will inspire me for a lifetime.
And I figured out a lot about how to do comic con. There is always next year- or Philly this year!
