last night tully threw together a gathering of sorts
his girlfriend from florida had never been to LI or something so the idea was to pretend that LI doesnt suck for a night, party it up, have a great time. by god, it worked out fantastically.
so i headed out to seacliff with santiago, vicky, lando, and meg (great mix)
to some dive
but it was great
because it had this off to the side room with tables and shit
had ourselves a regular bash
bunch of north shore music types came out to play
stealing jane, kung fu girls, raposo band, etc, and all the extended entourage
faked a birthday as a great cover for a cake baked with 10 grams of weed in it
hilarious.
hung out so effing hard, i think i was dancing in the street
yeah, shit, i was definitely dancing in the street.....
i was singing to a wolf later on the night, so whatever.
so we make our way to gregs place after some shinadigans. giiiiigantic.
he's got this indoor pool, got all fucking amped to jump in, tore off some clothes
and then i puss out and get all phobic about getting cold.
being cold while high is one of the most uncomfortable things for me.
not that i was even that high, but like, it might have sucked.
so i put my dumb shirt back on and start playing with gregs dog, guiness
which, basically, is this beautiful husky wolf of an animal. amazing.
i was in such a good place man, chillin out and didnt even realize i was sing song talking to the dudewolf
until i realize everyone is quiet and wondering wtf im doing. thats when you know im feelin it.
greg was in that boyband, dreamstreet as a kid and ive played a few shows with his current project
he's just a guy to me, kinda quiet actually. albeit a better connected guy but hes way cool
there was a kid who was asking him about how much the house costs, how much of it was dreamstreet money, what his father does, blah blah blah, it was kindve rude and honestly the minute that money comes up in conversation... how can you have a sincere one after it? it was like this guy wasnt really interested in friendship but thrilled to have stumbled upon a movie set.
oh! and there was a kid there who had my EXACT sense of humor. it was awesome to recognize.
girls in the music biz are a funny thing. its a shame but women in bands immediately have my doubts, especially outrageously goodlooking ones. ive met too many hollow pretty faces with a "look" to take most of them seriously. however, if a chick can shred... i'm reduced to a drooling fan.
dan got pulled over on the way home but he's cool as a cucumber that kid. didnt even put out his cigarette or roll his window down half way. cop had him get out of the car, had a chat ....and we were on our way. passenger side, im freaking and resigned to spending a night in jail or something but nah. nice touch to the end of the adventure.
moral of the story: great fucking night.
tonigt. moma and city with tully and natalia
tomorrow, culture shock at purchase?
