How long has he been trapped in this place now? Months? No far long than that. Years then?

He gave up trying to keep track a long time ago, maybe he’d never really been keeping track in the first place. Each day seemed to be merged into that familiar routine until it was disturbed by either an event, a death, an arrival or a departure. He’d long since blocked his thoughts from travelling back to those in his own world, given up hope that he’d see them again whether he be  sent home or they be brought to this broken city.

This place had broken him. Completely. Twice. Each day seemed to beat him down a little bit more. People came and went, it was inevitable here, losing people who you knew were still around...that was far worse. He was slowly withdrawing himself from everyone again, cutting himself from the people he’d come to care about.

Al. Ever since that relationship things had been awkward between them, even now things seemed to be even more awkward. What was worse were the emotions which kept running through him whenever he noticed that boy on the network. Hatred. It was horrible but so very tempting to try and strangle that blond. Make him scream, beg, plead for mercy.

Then there was Oliver. Sweet, caring Oliver. As much as the esper appreciated the cat-boy’s concern there were times when he sorely wanted to yell at him, throw something, hit him. He was thankful for the hospitality the other gave but that did little to change his thoughts at times.

The same could be said about Skyler, the innocent little monkey. So friendly. So helpful. He hated it. Jealous of a monkey of all things... He’d always put a smile on his face for the little creature, always act like nothing was wrong. Pretend more for it’s sake than anyone else’s. If the others saw his true colours he wouldn’t care but for some reason the thought of the little Skyler hating him...the idea seemed so much more painful. Was it because the other two had proved to have terrible tempers if hit the right, or should it be wrong, way?

Those three people, three he’d come to trust and open up to, were slowly fading away from him. Al had a boyfriend, Oliver had his brother, Skyler had his friend.

He resented all three of them deep down in that one corner of his heart that he’d promised to never let show again. Each one of them had someone from their world.

Who did he have to relate to now? Unohana-san? She was like a mother to him and there very few things he spoke with her about unless it concerned his health. The angel? That one and his cat had been a thorn in his side for the longest time now and it wouldn’t change.

Maybe it was best that he was alone. Maybe that was what fate had planned for him. Perhaps this was a sign for his life back home, everyone would leave him after the final day. If he lived of course.

A sharp bite drew his attention back to the real world, a long bitter hiss escaping his clenched teeth as he arched. The old room came back into view as sparks of pain settled. Old cracked walls covered with various bits of cloth, cold concrete floors with clothing scattered about, the door with paint peeling off it’s wooden surface. The matress underneath him pulling him in as it molded around his shape, a variety of deep red fabrics under his fingertips.

“Something bothering you?” A purr close to his ear draws a moan from him, his head tilting to meet that identical yet different face of the other Kamui. The smaller one slowly becomes aware of their positions although he’s not quite sure how they got there. Laying on his stomach with the other draped over him, their left hands linked on the sheets. Skin on skin. Completely. Everywhere.

A nip at the base of his neck reminds him to answer, although the words catch in his throat inititally. “Just thinking.” He mumbles out, rising to the lips behind him.

“About what?” A second purr as a deathly pale hand moves across the chest he’s exposed.

Another moan escapes the younger’s lips, his mind going momentarily blank causing him to mumble out the first thing which comes back into his head. “Thinking about Matt.”

The other Kamui sharply moves away before spitting out the name, “Matt.” He pauses although it’s painfully obvious to the other that he’s made a serious mistake. His energy hitting that anger point in which he’s debating whether to kill in cold blood. “Why were you thinking of him now?”

The vampire is sitting up, the makeshift cover having fallen away from the sudden movement. What a thing to say. As the older lets and annoyed sigh and turns his intentions of leaving are stopped by the highschooler’s hand on his wrist. A look of panic crossing his eyes for the brief moment that he keeps the other’s gaze. Slowly, hesitantly, he leans forward. Arms moving to the other’s shoulders, head resting in it’s now familiar spot by the neck.

“I was just thinking about how he’d love to be in my position.” The words are quiet, panic and worry clearing ringing across his tone.

No words follow.

He’s pushed back by the other, pinned to the bed and fingers work on entangling the other with the fabric underneath. The determined lips and sharp teeth scrape across scarring skin. Possessive.

“He’d love to have you more than me.” The words echo through his mind, a mental link makng up for the fact that the mouth is otherwise occupied. “He’d have a field day breaking you. Marking you.” As the taller glanced up fierce golden orbs met fragile violet ones. It’s a look which speak of more than simple possession, an unwritten rule being made between them. It’s not a topic to be brought up again. Ever.

The vampire presses more firmly against the other’s body, holding a gaze between them before his head ducks down to bite along the collar bone. He lets him have his way, the other familiar with his likes and dislikes as if they were his own. Slowly his mind trails off to that point in which he’s caught almost between two worlds. The one place he can think without hurting himself with the truth.

Matt. That bastard. He always seemed to bring up terrible thoughts. That guy made him look at himself for what he really was, twisted and broken. A killer. Maybe that was the solution to his problems, kill off that guy and pray he doesn’t come back for a few weeks. Perhaps that was the solution. Strangle that guy first. Blow him into pieces. Burn him. Poison him.

So many options.

A deep bite to the side of his throat. A strangled yelp as he instinctively claws at the other’s back. He can feel a tongue trail across the wound, lapping at the blood it’s drawn.

“Don’t think about him.”

A small groan caught between pleasure and agreement is all he can manage.
