Small update. Ok, maybe not that small.
The mice are doing well. Preggars and Moomoo are not shy at all and very fun and entertaining to watch. They've nipped my fingers a few times, but it doesn't hurt. More an exploratory nibble than an aggressive let's-chew-off-a-chunk-of-her-flesh bite.
The babies have started to show their colouring. There are a few completely brown just like mama, a couple black and white spotted like the papa, a couple brown and white spotted and one completely black pup. I've given a few of them names. The ones that I can easily identify at least. The all-black is called Darth Vader. The one with a black spot over his eye is called Capt Patch. There's another black and white spotted one that I call Mini Me. Brown and white spotty is called Mocha.
I cleaned the tank today - first time since I found them. I thought the mice were very used to me and my scent and I was right. I tested this first by putting a little house I bought in the corner - in a day Preggars carried all her pups from the kitchen towel nest into the house fabulously decorated with schredded kitchen towel by Moomoo. As you can probably tell from the pics, I've picked up quite a few things for them by now - water bottle, little pink house, little pink potty (which I'm using to try and potty train them but Moomoo is using it as his I-miss-my-bachelor-days pad), food bowl, mice food, bedding. Basically everything except the tank, and the mice.
