surf
i have been in SD for close to a year now, but only just yesterday faught off the intertia long enough to try surfing. my badass friend, KG, came down from LA. we rented very large boards and spent a few hours out each day. by sunday, we were catching waves ( of 2-3 inches of crumbly whitewater) and hanging 10 (of our fingers off the board to hang on for dear life...). Seaweed wrapped and flailing about, I had a blast. even managed to stand up a few times (less impressive when you consider that my board was only *slightly* smaller than a canoe.)
