great - now i'll never know who i am...

i may never know - cus someone 'stole my identity.' that phrase always cracked me up. like if you take away the credit card and social security numbers, there isn't much left. now that someone has cashed over a grand of checks against the equity line on my house -- me not laughing no more. since i didn't find out till a little after 5 on friday - just after the bank closed - i was left with little to do but fume and pace around my living room. alas, i will have to wait till monday to figure out how bad the damage is to my credit, my account, etc. in the interim, i'll have to satisfy myself with daydreams of rigging my mailbox with sensors and cameras and a not so mild electrical current for the bugger who stole those checks...mmm...

in other news - ask and ye shall receive... a spontaneous brunch occurred on my back-porch earlier today. a cadre of friends laden with fresh fruit and flowers and bread from the local farmer's market stopped by for a bit. chairs, tables and utensils be damned - we did just fine without. i am hoping this to be a regular occurrence.

and still, i have been feeling a 'get-the-hell-out-of-dodge' feeling lately. i intentionally overwhelmed myself with things to do recently and now that the pace is settling back to a simmer - i am yearning for some different scenery. nothing too grand - just a weekend somewhere not related to work...
