learn how to do these icons:




made in photoshop cs2 but it should be translatable because it doesn't use selective coloring.

PREPARATION PART
1) Crop and prepare your icon base. It looks good with a white background. So, paint the whole background white with your paint brush if needed.


COLORING PART
2) Make a Channel Mixer layer.
red! +86, +12, 0, 0
green! +16, +71, 0, 0
blue! 0, -7, +100,0

3) Add a new layer. Fill with color #e6c0c0 and set on multiply 24%.

4) Make a new curves layer and add:
RVB;
point 1! input: 162 - output: 205
point 2! input: 50 output: 73

5) another one (rvb):
point 1! input: 114 - output: 91

6)Add a new layer. Fill with color #e2ffff and set on color burn 100%.

7) Make a color balance layer.
Preserve luminance.
SHADOWS! +40, 0, -25
MIDTONES! -15, +20, +50
HIGHLIGHTS! 0, 0, +65

8) Add a new layer. Fill with color #e2ffff and set on color burn 50%.
9) Add a new layer. Fill with color #341c02 and set on exclusion 100%.
10) Add a new layer. Fill with color #001596 and set on color dodge 100%.

11) Make a Channel Mixer layer.
red! 100, -16, -14, +10


ADDITIVE PART
NOTE! You can use your own textures/brushs if you want, though.

12) Add these three textures and change the blend mode on screen. Erase and resize as you want.

13) Add this texture. Change the blend mode on color burn 38%.
