So this is Christmas...

Christmas was... Christmas.

It's just not exciting anymore. It's just... a day, but I just tried my best to see it from someone else's point-of-view. Like the kids and what-not. So, in the spirit of all that, I did everything I could to make it feel like Christmas. It sucks though because in the end, you're like "I could have tried a little harder to make it more festive" or whatever. You know what I mean? Like everyone is all about Christmas around Thanksgiving and I was just eh. And now I look back, as in years past, and go "I effed it up again. It's my fault it's no fun." Anyway... aside from not having tons of money to get everybody something, it wasn't a bad holiday.

On Christmas Eve, I slept a good bit. I was going to get up and shop, but I, of course, did not. I woke up around 12:30 to a car full of family members in the driveway. I had to get up and be a good little hostess until my dad and uncle got back from church. The fam. seemed to stay forever. So, I had to be rude and start getting ready for the other side of my family's Christmas Eve dinner. The house was packed. We had... hmm... I'm going to say about 30 people there. Maybe a little more. The food was good, as usual, the trampoline was exciting, and then the fun came. Fireworks. Of course my family gets their Christmas laughs from me lighting fireworks as I'm the only girl who'll brave it out there with the guys. So, I got my bic and did my thing. Everyone was outside watching and my aunt's were lined up in a row in lounge chairs beside the house and after a few little fireworks, their chatter started and then they stopped paying attention. So I yell over that they need to wake up. As if on cue, the artillery shell that I had just lit and put in the cannon falls over sideways, shoots out, hits a tire, and bounces towards the row of salt-n-pepper, middle-aged women. Hahaha.

The guys applauded.

After that, I went home and got some pajamas and my toothbrush and stuff to head to my sister's to stay the night. I made a pit stop on the way over and gave out presents to my mom and her boyfriend and then headed over. I played with the kids until they went to bed and then we set out presents and watched PoTC 2. We had bought stuff to make Jager Bombs, but the kids' dad was over and he's a bit of a bible-beater, so we're saving it until New Years. So, around 1:00 a.m., I headed up to bed with the kids to keep them from sneaking downstairs. Well, I slept on the floor and well, hardly slept, but that's okay. I got up around 8 and the kids got up at 8:30 and had to wait until my dad got there until they could come down the stairs. Jacob got tons of stuff like some new scanning video game, a digital camera, and other stuff. Jami's big present was two Cheetah Girls tickets. And Joseph got countless things, but only wanted to play with the boxes. Go figure. After all of that excitement, we had Christmas breakfast.

Exhausted, I came home and took a nap. When I got up, I chatted online with two o fmy most favorite bitches ever until it was time for me to get ready for Christmas Dinner at my mom's. I went, ate, watched a bit of a Christmas movie or two and then headed back to my sister's. I only stayed for a minute, as they were watching Naked Mile and I just don't get into those movies like everyone else does. So, I decided to go back to my mom's where we rented The Devil Wears Prada. It finally went off around 11:30 and I headed home. I did my usual holiday thing and cranked up the music (John Lennon) and rolled the windows down and just drove. Got here in just enough time to say Merry Christmas one last time to my dad before he fell asleep and now I'm here...

All-in-all, I got a plane ticket to Chicago in October, $200, 2 purses, a little avon gift bag, a black baby doll, some sort of bobble head thing, lots of clothes, a blanket, and maybe some more things I'm missing, but that was pretty much it.

And that was my Christmas. ♥
