I love my summer self.

I'm writing to everyone who is unfamiliar with my summer self.
Actually, one of the main differences between me during the summer and me during the rest of the year is the tan. But I just have to say that I love my job. Coaching is by far one of the best activites in the world and I feel so lucky that I have this team. I am exhausted all the time, my sandal tan won't go away, my voice is always a little bit hoarse, and I usually smell pretty bad. Life is sweet. This job is definitely not cut out for everybody, it requires patience that I never knew I possessed, but I really feel like being a swim caoch has made me a better person in the long run. I'm getting a lot more out of it this year than I did last year.
Other than my job, the summer is going well. There are certain things I miss about Davis and being away from home, but there are more things that I'll miss when my summer gets tragically cut short in early August. I guess short summers make you appreciate the time you have more.
My mom returns from Paris tomorrow and I'm excited because it means that the house will magically become clean again...and I missed her of course.
No interesting boy situations to speak of. I'm too dang busy and tired to go out and party and meet new people. Plus, I feel like I've done the Walnut Creek scene too much and I'd really rather just hang out with my favorites than to go out and try to make something happen. Believe it or not, I CAN survive summer without a romantic interest.
So until next time, wear a high spf and treasure your summer, you never know how long it will last.
