So. Back to reality, tonight. At least, for one night.
Fell hard off the no-carb wagon, and I'm feelin' it. Yuck. SO not worth it.
Jaw-dropping gifts, this year - - in no particular order - -
- - the McFarlane Series Five Daryl Dixon and his bike from
Gayalithiel - - what. I'd forgotten it was my birthday and saw the box and was all, "I didn't order anything..", and eased open one flap of the box to see his little head, peeking out - LOL - it's amazing, and the details on his, 'chopper' are really something. He has a place of honor, here, on my desk, still - 'cos I can't stop looking at it. There are just some people that KNOW what silly fangrrly things will make me smile, and mon Gaya is one of them. Thank you, BB.
SO, apparently, is my son. Whoa. He got me an autographed picture of
http://www.jsc.nasa.gov/Bios/htmlbios/lind-dl.html - - and did his homework. Or absorbed by osmosis, lol - Commander Lind became an astronaut in the halcyon days of the sixties, was mission specialist for Skylab's first operational mission (STS-51B), made 3D videos of Earth's auroras - and logged over 168 hours in space..Starting a collection, here..
Andddddd..the piece de resistance? ".........." HE GOT ME - for a song, mind you - GENE KRANZ' AUTOGRAPH. YES. *THE* GENE KRANZ. The ICON. The ULTIMATE flight director, and personal hero. The one who created the, 'Go/no go' calls we're all so familiar with, and held our boys' lives in his hands for so many flights, including Apollo 11 and 13. Dang.

"FAILURE IS NOT AN OPTION" - and this, in his honor, is my new desktop:
WOW. GENE EFFIN' KRANZ. LOL - I got teary-eyed, and he knew that I would.. ;)
Also - got this for myself, a nifty new bathmat -
- and a set of lovely curtains for my kitchen, from Germany..
But, also? I got some pretty good sleep :)
