Awesome evening for my first trip to Atlanta!
KMFDM was the headline, but we were in no hurry, there were two opening bands...
...so, we stopped for sushi. =D
Andrew, Kris and I had a blast in the sushi restaurant, Shogun. New sushi all around! Volcano roll, now a new favorite.
Finallay, arrival in Atlanta! The Masquerade. Very industrial. An old warehouse or something, the place is awesome. Complete with a nightclub downstairs.
On with the music!
When we first walked in, we had about 10 minutes before the second openers started... (yeah, we missed the first band).
Combichrist. Now, a new favorite to add to ths list! Awesome, awesome sound that they had. I now need to aquire some road tunes in the shape of Combichrist. =)
Half an hour of rest and then bring it on!! KMFDM hit the stage with attitude! I have seen them in the past, and they rocked me so well that to this day I still think that it was the best show I've ever seen. This time, was a bit of a thought for a swirling mind, the sound man was bad... =(
I could hear that the band was still KMFDM, and the music was good, but the sound man had the levels tuned wrong and it put things off for me. That, however, did not stop their raw energy! It was still a good show, but Kris and I were only running on 5 hours of sleep so our energy was not quite up to standard. I put her on my back for longer than I should have, and my shoulders are telling me that I am out of shape. lol
I got her a drink sometime through the show, that was a good thing... she was getting nervous from the culture shock experience. It felt good to be able to introduce her to something new like that. And now she is laying next to me with the most content look on her face. She makes me happy. And I love to see what it takes to do the same for her. Ok, I need to sleep. I think I've been too open, but I don't like to edit myself here, it came to mind, therefore, it is typed...
5am, 4 hours on the road to get back to Savannah, 5 hours of sleep from the night before... I'm done. Sleep will come now. Burnt out.
PS: Didn't meet Hannah tonight. No word from her. I hope she's alright, I haven't spoken to her in a long while, two weeks maybe...? =(
