So I suppose that I have come to accept that my computer does not meet my computing needs and am now looking for a new machine.  Any suggestions?

Also, I had a very good weekend.=D

Yes. I finally feel good again.=D

And wow wee thanks for all the info! I've sort of looked at some dells, but got over whelmed and frustrated very fast 'cause I basically know jack squat about PCs. I know that I need a machine that can handle all my sims stuffs preferably at high graphic settings and not extremely slow and photo stuffs. And the only reason why I'm not switching back to Mac at this point is because on top of the 3,000+ price tag I would have to switch my photo editing program and sims over to Mac versions and that would add close to 500 extra dollars that I don't want to spend if I don't have to. Other than that I'm not too concerned about money -- I paid off my car so no more car payment -- as long as I can have some kind of payment plan. Which is one thing about dell that appealed to me.

If you aren't concerned about price then may I suggest Alienware? They are owned by Dell but are an independent company with EXCELLENT cuban customer service. Dunno about you but they are much more patient and easier to understand then the Indian customer service Dell provides ( ... )

Can I say that just reading this conversation was extremely helpful to me as well, lol! I have a 5 year old computer that I've been attempting to run a brand new Nvidia 7900 and the thing keeps locking up on me and I got to play just enough of the Sims 3 to get addicted:( So I guess I'm in need of a new computer too. Good luck with finding a good machine!!
