Oh my, thank you~♥

his is the best and only Naruto/Sakura I will ever want or need :) I dislike it in canon so, so much; but this is still a completely gorgeous fic. - Emphasis entirely mine. *__* You know how there are some writers whose works you would kill to read, even if they're writing about a pairing you could really care less about or a fandom you do not even know? ronsard is definitely one of them♥ I'm familiar with her prose, I really do love it (how she managed to make me love Jiraiya/Naruto, I'll never know), but I love it even more when she ventures out of the abstract into something more concrete, tangible. NaruSaku for me is, to be completely honest, kind of an obligatory preference; it is necessary for Team 7 OT3, after all, and you cannot write about any two members of Team Seven without including the third.

I do not like it much in canon either, which is strange, because discounting Sasuke, they have no obstacle stopping them from getting together - hell, they could even get together because of Sasuke, no problem, no nebulous, emotionally charged issues to work out except ones that ever normal couple face - out of any Team 7 combination, theirs would be the least destructive for both parties concerned.

And yet, that is exactly why it pales in comparison to, say, the relationship between Sasuke and Sakura, or that between Sasuke and Naruto. There is mutual understanding between them somewhere, mutual care and concern, but that's about it - there is a lack of, uh, emotional intensity in regards to each other, preoccupied as they are with Sasuke, that I find very off-putting. As canon is now, it's obvious they'll never possibly be each other's Most Important Person why, that'd be Sasuke now, wouldn't it? which, I admit, isn't a requirement for a lasting relationship, but it's not exactly a very good base for one either.

I'm lost on what the point of this Hana & the Uchiha clan genfic was, but it's lovely, lovely atmospheric prose. - I'm a bit lost, too, though I think that is mostly because I haven't yet read Mistress of the Hounds, which Lure This Sun is supposedly based on. But yes, lovely prose, nonetheless. Just the sheer vibrancy of it is enough to take you back to another time and place♥

Civilian is definitely a standout. The first chapter left me wanting more because I adore anything that has a pinch of Hyuuga in it~ I'm looking forward to the rest, because it never hurts to read about ordinary people and ordinary lives.♥

Up on the Hill was amazing - those disjointed sentences and that rough-edged prose really worked for this piece; Yahiko's voice was spot on. This pieces manages in a few hundred word what others cannot in a thousand. It's concise and raw, has that this-is-harsh-reality-face-it feel to it and is perfect for Team Amegakure. *__*

But if you're up for a more cheerful team-fic, A Portrait of Youth would be the way to go. Before reading this, I found Team Gai very... bland; completely, utterly bland despite Lee and Gai's more-than-exuberant personalities. Needless to say, my views have changed quite a bit. The writing doesn't hit as hard, but it's still a nice way to pass time when you're in the mood for something mellow♥ Oh, how I love making unsolicited recs./gets bricked
