So I just handed in my sn_exchange assignment a little before last week, and have been on a break from LJ ever since. It's refreshing, to say the least. Anyway, I discovered that lately I've been failing quite miserably at writing porn.

I'm glad you think it's brutally painful - fluff for this pairing gets written much too often, even though there is nothing fluffy about those two at all! except Sakura's cotton-candy hair XD

unfortunately, i am writing a fluff and smut heavens mercy, what a freaking contradiction for sasusaku right now. i've been writing a lot of sasusaku angst for the past couple of weeks that a friend asked for some smut and fluff.

i think i'll post it soon if i'll be able to finish it some time this week.

I basically skipped over all the other pairings to read the S+S story. I wouldn`t label the story as simply smut because it deals with the complexity of the two characters psyches. Sasuke curled up in the dark corner of a room was very sad. It was realistic. In most stories its made to seem like falling in love with Sakura will solve all his problems. Getting a girlfriend won`t be a quick fix for all of Sasuke`s emotional baggage. Of course Sakura will go against her better judgment and sacrifice everything to help him. They are always tragic like that. She is hopelessly smitten. He is too absorbed in his own pain to acknowledge anyone else.

Wow, that's the most encouraging thing I've heard about SasuSaku from anyone in a while! :D I agree with most of what you said, and I'm glad you found this realistic, because 'stark and realistic' was what I was going for. Fluff simply does not work with SasuSaku, unless you slightly alter their personalities in some way.
