FFFFFFFFF JOB
I got the Gamestop job; found out today, went in and did my paperwork. Though I'll have to see how the checks are since I changed my W-4 allowances this time around and I'm not sure if I'll like the way they're handled. I usually count on that nice return in April for my vacations and I'd rather not pay in either but WE'LL SEE!
I go in tomorrow for a few hours to learn some stuff and then probably get thrown to the wolves on Black Friday. I probably won't learn register until next week though so I'll most likely just be trying to get people stuff on the floor and helping customers, but it's something! I basically will be the same status as what I had at Waldenbooks, part time with the option of 40hrs, middle management, have a key, etc - but there's the opportunity to grow and I basically just got a raise starting out.
Greg mentioned the chance of jumping to assistant in April, which is considered full time then. It's a chance it might not happen either, but hell, just having the OPTION THERE is much better than being completely stuck where I was.
So, pretty happy about that - and hell, if I hate it? I'll just look for something else down the line.
Shortest unemployment run for me. Ha ha! It ended up being like...what, five days? This is awesome.
Granted, now there's the nerves from OHGODSTARTINGNEWJOB - but considering I know a lot of them already... I think that'll not be so bad.
