Chelsea just told me the saddest thing.
This couple we know, Pat and Athena, have been together for absolutely EVER, they've been married for about five years, and they have two little boys. They're the sweetest, nicest people, totally in love, and hold anarchist potlucks every Thursday night at their home. They're basically the people that take you in when you're down on your luck and help you get back on your feet.
So apparently a couple of weeks ago Pat, completely out of the blue, told Athena that he wanted a divorce and the same day packed up and drove to Colorado. Athena's still in school, so she can't work enough hours to support the kids and had to give up her apartment and move in with Lucas (which is an adventure in and of itself, I'm sure). And no one has heard from Pat since, except for when Athena received divorce papers in the mail last week.
I guess love really doesn't last...
