Make your list...

It's been a few days since I last posted. I've actually really been that busy!

For those following the cross-country flight saga: I still have not done my solo to Janesville, but this time it was weather-induced. We are trying again on Sunday. I did do some solo work above Racine yesterday, but only for about 40 minutes before the clouds moved in. It was sort of interesting in that I noticed some turbulance in the air, then noticed the clouds seemed to keep geting closer and closer...when I tuned in to the automated weather for our airport I was rapidly within 100ft of the reported cloud layer. It was dropping fast too! I got back and landed and by then the cloud cover was at 1200 feet (I had started my flight with the clouds at 2200!) My instructor initially gave me clearance to take the plane then left the area for another appointment, so I really was 100% on my own from takeoff to landing. It was cool.

Yesterday was our 4th weddding anniversary, but unfortunately I had to work until 8 and by the time I got home it was too late to do much of anything. We are making up for that this weekend. Saturday, weather permitting, we are going skydiving! The jump altitude as I understand it is around 14,500 feet, which allows for about a minute of freefall. I am planning on nothing solid tomorrow morning for breakfast, just in case. I hope I don't freeze up on the jump-I'm actually somewhat afraid of heights (I'm fine in the plane, but things like high ladders or open staircases make me tense up) and it is kind of weird to be jumping out of a perfectly good plane...

Anyway, if something bad would happen and we go splat, make sure you get your 'wish list' for our crap here. My only rule is no fighting over stuff. I figure we can't die because Milt would kill us if he had to rplace 2 more members of the Rhode Board! :-)

Tonight we are planning to go out for Sushi, and either Saturday or Sunday will be Bob Chinns (depending on the skydiving).

Life is good.
