Massively Long Time since Update
OK... Let's see...
Work: The other person doing Clarify on the floor, Rudel, who was also my supervisor, quit unexpectedly due to getting a better position with US Cellular. This means I am now the SOLE Clarify support on the entire 1st floor!! Wow!! Although technically a promotion without a job title switch (grr), we all DID get a 30 cent raise, so that was good. Plus they haven't put me on the phones even when we were 200+ in queue, so it looks like I may now be exempt while I'm it for Clarify. Not holding my breath that that won't change, but one never knows. Lots of OT though. And I get a three-day weekend next week, and a four-day weekend the next weekend due to vacation. YAY!! It's been since JUNE since my last vaca day, so I'm pretty jazzed about that!
Poker: I apparently rock at Texas Hold'Em poker... I won the first game last night, solidly, after knocking THREE people (of 8) out in one hand. I was looking good the second game too, but I have a bad problem with forgetting what cards I have and bet everything on a hand I didn't have *stupid!!*, and so lost. I might have won, though. Boy, that's fun!!
Friday night: Went to the Dive with a crapload of folks from work, plus Mom & Danny. Had a blast!! Got to sing a lot by myself, and a few songs with Mom... she was bummed that Roy wasn't there, she loves Steve Perry and wanted to hear him sing! :)
Japanese classes: Man, my students are smart folks. Derek skipped class tonight so we had an impromptu 2 hours of new material instead of the review for Derek we were planning... not only did they roll with it, they pretty much mastered the ton of new material by the end of the night. Let's see how they do on the quiz Wednesday. They're all jazzed because it is finally clicking.. they can read along in hiragana, form very complex sentences (Example from tonight: The snow was yellow, but I ate it anyway!). In short, they rock!!
Sleep: Yeah, not happening.
Rhys: He is wonderful and beautiful and we are still very very happy together!! Just wanted to give everyone an obvious status check. :) We registered at Williams-Sonoma today, that was a frikkin' blast!! Still have to register at Super Target, and Bed, Bath and Beyond. :) Best part of planning.
Going out to see Sky Captain tonight at 10:25 at the Cinemark, join if you want to!! See you there!!!
