House hunt
Tomorrow I'm going house-hunting round the Denes. It's a bit of a hobby of mine but I never actually move... I haven't so far, anyway. Looking around just lets me know I have the option.
I do love the insides of those old terraced houses, high ceilings and more character than newer houses, but bits of the area are kind of rough. Not worse than where I'm living now but at least here I'm practically in the countryside. That's the part I'd miss, but I'd like to have more pride in where I live, and have people over more often. I'd be more motivated to do things with the place, but I'd have less money.
It's just so cheap living here, and I'd not get another council flat in a hurry. It's 50-something quid a week here and it'd be twice that with a private landlord, but I know other people who are in and out of temp work like I am and they manage fine.
So I'm back and forth on it like I have been for more than a year but I do enjoy looking around houses. The one I turned down last year was probably perfect but the time wasn't right. I'll just have to see what's available.
