shiiit. i saw slide hampton today at the vanguard in nyc. it was fucking incredible. as nate says, a relgious experience. he's like 77 and played so great and his chops are right on and he plays with such emotion and fervor. the tenor sax player was great too, amazing tone and great solos. there was a singer, in portugese (oh it was an all jobim set) who was incredible too. nate and i were totally front center table, like i could touch slide hampton if i wanted to. it was fantastic. nate bought a cd and we listened to it on the way home in the car. train ride in was good, i finished emerson and started franklin. i haven't done any of that school shit, its bad news man. yea so i was expecting a call from arkady to distract/etc etc me in tonite's situation, but he was... well long gone. however i arrived home to a beautiful email, that to the untrained eye could be percieved as dribble drabble. but ark somehow can write such nonsensical bullshit that just... makes so much sense. he just makes perfect sense. aah! what the hell. like 5 people are talking to me, having full-blown, intricate conversations about scotland and dick oats and shopping carts and its 12:36. fuck that bitches! i'm outtie.
