::gentle Hugs::...That was a 'terrible' position to put you in, even more so, knowing your back-ground!....I pray something is being done about the security?....I stayed at a 'shelter' one time for about 3 months, the security was always very tight, one girl was 'asked' to leave, when she very 'stupidly' gave the shelters address to her gang boyfriend...I was coming back from hospital visit, the idiot jumped out at me from under the stairs, Lol, I was terrified, his two pals were across the street. Usually, I would never report on 'someone' but these guys were dangerous, and she had put us all in danger!

How are you doing, love? Are you getting 'used to' HERE?

*nods* the shelter has been an interesting experience for me. i worked at a drop in center for queer youth before this, i think i liked it better.

its a shame, but my clients put other clients at risk all the time. its a misdemeanor to disclose the confidential location of the shelter. so many times i've seen women with no place to go exited. its a hard call, but rules are there for a reason.

as far as "doing" i'm looking forward to my shift being over in 2.5 hours...or at least for the sun to come up and shed some light on the situation. how are you this fair day?

On the up-beat today...not much sleeping, temporary reduction on meds...but I am feeling much better, thank you.

some 'suggestion'...courtesy one, replay (queer) with 'gay', more politically correct and we have many survivors here, who are really nice people, they might take offence....

Hope the 'sun' is rising soon, haven't had a chance to see were you are living!..will check today...lotsa love....diane

mm... the "queer" thing, I think, is a cross-cultural/ cross-generational misunderstanding (I'm queer). Its part of the movement to reclaim/appropriate the negative labels given to us to turn them on their heads. most of the people i know find it empowering, but you are correct; gay is much more politically correct.

I'm in sunny california, Oakland to be more precise.

No offense meant....just have friends here who would be hurt by 'terminoligy',
my sister-in-law just got legally marriaged to her partner, Julie, in Manitoba..lovely couple.
You are bound to find out, eventually, especially if you 'friended me'...I am separated from my husband, Ian, as he 'came out' about 12 years ago and has AIDS...he now wants us back together...will see.

California!...must be nice...always wanted to visit that part of the States.

my partner and i are considering domestic partnership (the closest thing to marriage in the states) we shall see. i'm sorry about ian, AIDS can be so devestating. I've done a lot of outreach and education in the community on safer sex practices... and i've met a lot of people who are affected.

This part of California is pretty great... temperate, relatively green and hilly, and lots of open minds :)

::HUGS::...Ian, is on 'coctail' and is doing well...but I did work many years with the AIDS Society, budding the 'boys' in final stages, many became close friends and it was devastating watching the 'disease' progress and their dealths....two died in my arms.

The area you live in sounds beautiful!.....I love the country, usually live in tha Laurentions, all woods and hills, temporarily in Montreal, due to illness.
