Ventventvent, confessconfessconfess...But I digress.

Various updates from off the face of the map:

-          I’m in the middle of a series of essays by David Foster Wallace called “Brief Interviews With Hideous Men” (full review later, since this seems to be the season of book reviews). "The Depressed Person" has, so far, been on of my favorites, in a way that makes me both grimace and grin...

-          I’ve found, much to my chagrin and frustration and self-loathing and all the other bad feelings I can think of that I won’t be at Oberlin this fall, for academic reasons. I’ve been avoiding talking about it, for the most part, because I’ve been so freaked out an disappointed, I haven’t even been able to fathom how anyone else could think well of me after doing something so mind-bogglingly stupid.

-          The previous point, I feel, is indicative of an actual need for me to take some time off, anyway, to deal with some of the immature bullshit still rattling around up top. Also, it’ll give me time to do some projects on the side, see a proper therapist, earn some money, and take some cheap local classes to broaden my options in terms of what I want to come back to Oberlin doing.

-          My friends are amazing. All of them. I’m incredibly grateful to those I’ve gotten in touch with over this summer. who’ve made me feel much more human, and much more like myself, after going through the entirety of June shell-shocked and lonely.

-          I am learning guitar. It’s…a ridiculous amount of fun, though I can only play simple chord progressions and strumming patterns right now. I want to learn more songs to pull people into sing-alongs, though…so, if you know any songs that sound really good on an acoustic, or 6/8 of people in a room full of college students will know the words to (and sing along to…), or you really, really like…send some titles my way.

-          I miss everyone like woah. WOAH.

That’s all for now. Just mainly wanted to say “Hello” again, and clear the air.

<3,
