March 13th, 1983 -- as Iona Gordon

March is a fairly celebratory month for my family in any given year (my mother and Aunt Marybeth have birthdays on the 17th, and Kester's is on the 22nd), but this year the stakes have been raised a bit, as Portree has matches on the 16th and the 23rd. Both birthday weekends will, no doubt, be improved with Portree wins. I have tickets to both (as do my parents, as well as my aunt and uncle), and I am looking forward to lots of points on the point by my team, as well as not so many from either the Kestrels or Puddlemere. So. No pressure, Kester.

Though I do admit to having a slight interest in Puddlemere affairs as well. It was so long ago, but I was the player handed the task of replacing Brock Blenkinsop as Seeker on the Hufflepuff Quidditch team, and I freely admit to not having even half the talent that he had (and has). Even though he is obviously very English I did learn a few things from him when we were on the team together, but I did not have the knack for it that he did. That is perhaps why I have been working for The Prophet ever since I left Hogwarts and not playing Quidditch in any form. Not that I would have gotten far on the national stage anyway, since Scotland's Seekers are absolutley brilliant. No, Quidditch was fun as an extra-curricular activity at school (two years when I started, and the year or so I had as a reserve), but I knew my pursuits in life lay elsewhere, and I am quite content in watching (or listening to) Quidditch on the sidelines these days.

I have not had more than three drinks at a time at all this week, and that is a major victory.
Kester has also cut all ties with Doireann, and for that, I am immensely happy. She was an idiot, and my cousin can do so much better. I hope his next... interest is of a better standard, or else I shall have no option but to make my displeasure known to him again, and I do hate being cross with him.

All in all, things are well. Cheers.
