so lately, if you can't tell, i've been listening to a LOT of nineteen forty-five. i've kind of re-discovered them in a way. i had both albums for a while now, as they were released on daemon (in fact, i think i got i saw a bright light within days of its official release date). so yeah, i've been into nineteen forty-five for a while, but now i'm really into them.
i don't know, lately, probably on the heels of an amy solo tour, i've been into more rockin' stuff than indigo girls. don't get me wrong, my love for those girls has not subsided at ALL. it never has (since 1989), and it never will. and just to proove this, look at me, planning my entire month of january (and pretty much my entire life) around their tour schedule. so yeah, i still love amy with emily (i don't think anyone ever questioned my love for amy), but my mood has been to rock out.
so i've been listening a nice mix of amy ray solo stuff and nineteen forty-five. katharine mcelroy of nineteen forty-five is very pregnant at the moment. so there probably won't be many live nineteen forty-five (or snow machine, katherine's solo-ish project) for a while. but if/when katherine, hunter, and will ever go on the road again, i am catching a few shows no matter where they are. i saw them live years ago, and that was one of the most rockin' shows i've ever attended.
i so heart nineteen forty-five right now. i love their albums. i love the stuff that they did on prom (and of course what they did with "late bloom" on stag.). and i love will's drumming at amy's solo gigs. really, what's there not to love about these kids from birmingham?
check them out for yourself.
