I don't get the big deal everyone is making about the anniversary of John Lennon's death. It's not because I don't like John Lennon, because I like him a lot. He was a huge influence on my music and the way I think about things in general. I just don't understand why people need to be reminded of what happened. I didn't even exist when he was killed, and I'm not going to forget about it anytime soon. So, hurray for needlessly dredging up sad incidents of the past instead of covering stories that are happening right now but slipping under the radar, being eclipsed by more important news like celebrity breakups and the mystery of a lot of people shopping all at once before major holidays.
