Storms a'coming

A bright flash is followed quickly by crackling thunder. It's so loud it sounds as though it's coming from right outside my window. I can hear the rain pounding on the road below my apartment...

It's an interesting accompaniment to my writing, the storm. It has its own surreal beauty. Maybe it comes from its forceful nature, maybe the sound of the rain is soothing; I really couldn't say.  I feel as if it is fitting considering where I'm at in life. Stormy, and mixed up, and beautiful in its own strange way. At the moment I am surprisingly content with that. Maybe I'll lose some power, maybe I'll get struck by lightening; the funny things about rain storms is that everything seems to get washed clean in the process.

I have been reading some NUSL-sponsored student blogs the past couple days. They really highlight everything from classes, to student life, to coop, and everything in between in a way that the school website is unable to capture. These are students writing in the thick of all the work what is going on with them. What classes they like, what their coop experiences are, how little time they really have for life outside of law school. Reading the blogs has been both incredibly exciting and beyond terrifying, funny how that works.

The storm seems to be passing, or maybe it's just a lull. All I know is the storm is jus beginning for me; I'm just going to have to ride it out.
