(no subject)
It's been a bit of a whirlwind of activity around here. I'm still remaining optimistic about band this year. On Friday, 190 people signed up for the Band. 1-9-0. Granted, this means that they'll think about joining, not that they will, but you usually get about half the people that sign up show up for auditions. Which is amazing!!
Unfortunately... yesterday's auditions were somewhat underwhelming. Only a few people showed up. In fact, out of the 23 trombones (!!) that signed up, only 1 showed up yesterday. I mean... it was raining. That's probably why. Right?
Zach and I visited some freshmen's rooms yesterday. Had to leave a lot of notes, but I think we got 2 people more interested. We also heard some kid playing sax in his room, and went to his door and told him about band. I mean... how do you pass that up? Srsly.
Today is a new day. Auditions again from 12-4, then heading to the store and to get something to eat. Then... first night. Holy moly. It's the last one I'll attend... I hope it's fun.
I just added 'eating bacon' as an interest on Facebook. Bryan Jolley made me do it. ...I'm just waiting for an eating bacon facebook group. You know you'd join.
