I was involved in a car accident last night.

Only about 10 miles from home, Lauren hit a deer on the way home from Potsdam.
I don't have a lot to tell of the actual event, because I was sleeping when it happened. I woke up upon impact, and watched the deer tumble away almost over the bridge we were about to cross. We pulled off the bridge and discovered hey, the car is fucked up. So we stood outside for an hour and a half waiting for AAA to pick up the phone, a tow truck to arrive, the State Trooper to come and take care of the deer (which was still alive for a while after the accident, but died before the police got there), and Nathan to get out of bed and come get us. Which was very nice of him. Liz was busy freaking out about being in 'Deliverance Territory,' and being attacked by the dead deer's family, and being eaten by a wild Turkey that she saw tracks for. WTF, Dryden NY isn't that scary. It's not like going into Tioga County. People in Dryden have a McDonalds, and they live like 10 minutes away from a shopping mall. And wild turkeys aren't really scary, they're just large! Whatever. It was an unfortunate way to end an unfortunate weekend.

Friday, I skipped a class to leave on time for the game in Potsdam. The game really stunk, the team was playing awful, they put Louis Chabot in goal after 1 period... it was just kind of surreal. There were 100 7th-graders sitting next to us who sang the national anthems, and they were perfectly horrible. They would stand behind the band, throw Mike&Ikes at us, and say 'yo, cornell sucks! you guys suck! cornell sucks!' and giggle. I wish I could have completely ignored them, but they were standing close enough so that I was afraid they might try to take hats and coats, music, whatever, so I had to keep an eye on them. Also, the Clarkson band was stupid, and played over us during pinball wizard, going so far as to march their drums behind our band to throw us off. Our pepband was also not at its best... so basically the night sucked.

But! After the game, I met up with Josh, Phil, and Hilary, and one of their friends from Potsdam! It was very nice to see them and hang out, even if it was only for a little bit. Those kids were the highlight of my weekend!

Saturday, I showered, dressed, dried my hair and put on makeup in 20 minutes flat. Hold your applause, please. We went to the mall, and I was very sad that NOONE I KNOW will go shopping with me. They won't even let me stop at a store to browse the racks sitting out in front for 30 seconds. I mean, I don't like to shop THAT much, but I only get to go to the mall a couple of times a semester. Is that really so much to ask?! Went to the arcade and sadly, there were two guys playing the DDR game the entire time, and I felt uncomfortable going up there and kicking them off to just be mediocre. So yeah, that's why I don't play DDR at the arcade. There was this snowmobile racing game that jiggled your cooter so much as to be like, uncomfortable. Woah, I came to race a snowmobile, not be stimulated. Then we went bowling and I bowled the two worst games of my college career. What crap.
The SLU game kinda stunk because we tied... but at least we put up a good fight and came back from a 3-0 disadvantage. I also really like their rink - the Church of Hockey - even if it is filled with stupid drunken sorority girls.
Chants of the weekend:
"We get to leave! We get to leave!"
"That's not what your mom said!" (In response to them chanting 'virgins' at us)

Oh, another thing, Shamrock Shakes are God's gift to humankind. They are a triumph of modern man. It's so minty, but there's this illusion of lime sherbet that I'm not sure is really there... but there's just something else in there besides mint that makes it PERFECT. Man, this has got to be the best thing that has ever come out of mcDonalds. (Okay, so I looked it up online and it appears as though there's just mint in a shamrock shake, and the lime I'm tasting is purely phantom. But... it's still awesome. I want to make one.) I better get another one before the shamrock season is over... or there will be hell to pay!
