I've been having such fun in Australia. I explored Melbourne, saw Queen Victoria botanic gardens, shopped, ate lots of good stuff, put off vegetarianism until I get to Japan, went to some museums, saw a flock of wild cockatoos, saw a bunch of wildlife in a sanctuary, lost a small bet on Derby Day, did "rich people things" (as I'm always teasing a well-off friend of mine I want to do with her), went to a Sexy International Film Festival (so fun), made penis fastinettas (I have no idea if that's what it's really called, but... something decorative for the head), had the worst Mexican food of my life, made friends with a bunch of dogs, visited the harbor and a couple of beautiful beaches, washed a car named Jamal with pink cherry foam, and had some yummy fondue.
Today I'm setting out along the Great Ocean Road. We'll be camping and staying with people. I'm really excited! So that means I may not have internet access for much of the next 5 days. But it's fine, you're not mad. And I'll see if I can take some more cool pictures.
A friend from high school is closing on her own house the day before I get back, and asked if I wanted to move in with her. We haven't been that close since high school, but I'm seriously thinking I'll do it, after a few weeks to get settled back in America (and get a job and a car and such). That would be way cool. And probably cheaper than an apartment. More expensive than living with my parents... but better for my state of mind. When I live with them, I tend to just sit back and mooch, and that's not good for anyone.
I decided to take my laptop with me, and I'm glad I did right now. I mailed a box home a few days ago, mostly with souvenirs and such, and I've managed to get down to just my backpack, laptop, and purse (which I could also squeeze into the backpack in a pinch).
