I love it!

Last weekend I went to Beomosa Temple on Saturday.  It was really beautiful!  It was hot and sunny, and I walked around looking at colorful buildings, finding secluded statues, and walking the trails around the temple.  It was lots of fun, and I got some great pictures.  Then on Sunday I went and saw X-Men, and then hung around at home.  I did some hardcore laundry...  My washing machine spent a couple hours thumping and hammering when I washed my blanket and sheets.  Lame...

This weekend I'm going to see Star Trek with my Korean posse, then we're going to get Mexican for lunch.  Mmm...  It's supposed to rain and be nasty all day, but it's fine.  Then on Sunday I'm thinking I'll go to the beach for a while, assuming the weather's good.  It's supposed to be cloudy, but not rainy.

I've decided that with the new warm weather, I need some more plants.  I had a few, but I had gotten down to a bundle of 'bamboo,' a spiky-leafed plant, and something with leaves (all of which would take an atom bomb to kill).  So I recently acquired a lavender plant that should bloom soon, a camellia with a beautiful-smelling white flower, and a little cup where I'm trying to start a few sunflowers.  The avocado seeds I tried didn't sprout.  My current strategy is to get as many plants as I can, in the hopes that some of them will survive.

This week was very positive for me, much better than things had been before it.  The kids were mostly good.  I mean, there are always times when they talk too much, or scream for no reason other than they like to hear themselves.  But I liked it.  I joked around with some kids, and had good talks with others.

And today was Teachers' Day!  What a glorious holiday it was...  It's like Christmas for teachers.  Let me tell you what I got from various kids.  I got two really nice, identical sets of lotion/body scrub/etc. (from two brothers I teach), a pack of very nice socks, another pack of some weird booty-style crocheted socks, a couple of embroidered handkerchiefs, a little Hello Kitty trash can, $10 in 'Happy Money' (for various movie theaters, restaurants, and stores), some oatmeal lotion, a pretty little carnation cell phone charm, and another cell phone charm that's a koala-angel holding flowers.  And a note (from the girl who gave me the trash can) that says, "Alex tetcher thak you for me tech.  I am happy, because Alex tetcher is happy.  Alex tetcher have a good time!  I love.  To Alex tetcher.  From Beenie."  Aww...  Plus we had some pizzas and a big sweet watermelon to share in the teachers' room.  All in all, a great day!
