This is what I do when I'm feeling unproductive

I was watching the first episode of Johnny Be Good on the Sundance Channel and he was talking about how in the off season he gains a fair amount of weight. I'm sure once he steps back on the ice again it all melts off, but when you have nothing to train for, it can be really difficult to want to go to the gym.

Today was having a very unproductive day and decided it was time for me to figure out my race schedule for this year. The past two years I have done a triathlon but this year I need to do something more. I need to be active ALL summer instead of just part of it. I need to lose all this weight I've gained and keep it off. I need to have a reason to exercise.

So, beginning April 18th I'm going to do the Bridge to Brews 10K run. Any race that starts and stops at the Widmer Brewery is fine by me!

On July 25th I'm going to do the Lacmas Lake 1/2 marathon

On August 22nd I'm going to do the Portland Triathlon again. I'm going to do the sprint again because I really need to master that race before I do the Olympic course.

I found some good training guides and I'm starting tomorrow with a 2.5 mile run.
