I haven't been a very good blogger as of late. I would love to tell you I was off slaying dragons and writing the great American Novel, but alas, I was not. I've just been busy flitting off here and there and taking side trips.
Last weekend my plan was not to do much except to lounge around the house and enjoy the 3-day weekend. I did a little lounging but not as much as I would have liked. I did have a good weekend, though.
Ian surprised me with breakfast on Saturday with some scrambled eggs cooked in orange shells. They were mighty delicious especially with the addition of the dill grown next to our house.
The biscotti is from my friend
cerr who owns a bakery and regularly ships me baked goods to feed my addiction. Good friend.
On Monday, Ian and I went to
Washington Park to hike around the Wildwood Trail. We walked up the Vietnam Memorial Garden because Ian had never seen it. Volunteers were setting up for a Memorial Day ceremony. It was quite beautiful.
On Tuesday there was no laying around in the sun for us because we felt a 16-mile bike ride was in order. We biked along the Burnt Bridge and Discovery trails and through the woods. We explored new places and I took some pictures along the way. This is Still Life with Ian and Lupine.
I believe this is Burnt Bridge Creek but it looks more like a bog to me.
Still life with Me and bog/creek.
Today we went to the Vancouver Farmer's Market and almost bought the place out. I bought some onions and garlic and potatoes and Ian bought two parsley starts and a marjoram start. We're going to plant those in the front of the house tomorrow. I'll post pictures of that later.
So, that, as they say, is that. I finished
The Women by TC Boyle and it found it to be a very satisfying book. It's a fictionalized look at the life of Frank Lloyd Wright told through the point of view of all the women in his life. I'll write a book report later. Until then, don't break the interwebs, kids.
