I know you won't believe it, but I actually bought music today that wasn't made by a New Zealander! Admittedly, I heard about
Kings of Convenience (from Norway), through a Kiwi (the singer for Gramsci), but still! They're pretty low-key, mainly two guys with guitars (although there's some piano and strings and other stuff, too). Misread, which I'm listening to now, reminds me of Nick Drake's Cello Song. They're folky, but kind of jazzy, too. Very nice!
That said, I did buy some NZ stuff today, too. I ordered
Gramsci's latest album (love his work with Module -- his voice sounds like Brian Ferry), and I ordered the
Loop: Kono 006 DVD, which has an Age Pryor video (EEEEEEEE!!!!!!!), as well as a doco on the first Fly My Pretties. Oh, and I also ordered Rhian Sheehan's
Music for Nature Documentaries, since it has a song remixed by Age, along with a number of other cool musicians. I just can't resist anything with Age, it seems. Oh, and I'll probably give
sense_ a listen soon and there's a good chance I'll order those songs, as Jeramiah (module) was part of sense_.
