Breaking Into (uneven) Pieces

Mar 12, 2008 16:52

There is a LOT of swearing going on here today. All I'm trying to do is cut a piece of 11 x 14 plexiglas into 3.5-inch squares. First I couldn't find my cutting tool. At some point it got moved from the resting spot it had been in for more than a year and ended up in the last place I thought to look. Now I can't get the plexiglas to cut evenly. I spent ages marking out the lines, measuring two and three times. Everything was perfectly square. Until I tried to cut. I took every effort to get it to break along an even line, thinking I'd cut evenly and deeply enough. Nope! Two cuts, two uneven breaks. I think I can maybe salvage one of the strips, but the other is a total write-off. I'm afraid to cut again and further ruin six more squares. Maybe I'll just go buy a new cutter tomorrow. Maybe mine is just too dull at this point.

For now, the frustration has lead to a headache. Oh, and the screenprinting I did today had a few minor problems, too, although those were salvageable, especially since the shirt was solely for me.
