I was checking the events schedule on last.fm this morning to see when the Feist show in Amsterdam is going to be held, since I have a better idea now of when we're moving (around May 15). The Feist show is May 24, so it looks like I should be able to go if I can get tickets! Yay!
I'm also planning on going to see Jack Johnson and G. Love & Special Sauce in Den Haag in July, mainly just because I can.
Best of all, I found out today that Stars are playing in Utrecht in June! Awesome! I don't even have to travel for that one! I could go to more shows now, but no one ever comes to Greensboro. Winston-Salem is the closest, and that's still a 40-minute drive. Most people go to Chapel Hill/Raleigh or Charlotte, and both of those are at least an hour drive. I don't like driving at night as it is, and I really don't like driving after I've been out late at a show. So I just don't go. Now, I'll be able to hop on a train and head out to see a lot more shows, even if they're not in town. (G's already been looking at the train schedules.) Amsterdam is about a half-hour train ride away, and with Utrecht being a bit like central station for the Netherlands, it should be fairly easy. Certainly no worse than when I lived in Queens and had to take the subway into Manhattan. Ah, public transportation. Something else I'm looking forward to having again!
Unfortunately, I'm missing a few shows I would have liked to see. Spinvis is playing a couple of shows in Utrecht in April, and The Brunettes seem to be opening for a lot of people in Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands that month, as well.
