Election Day: Vote!!
Whew! Big day so far, and it's only 2:00!! Got up, took 2 dozen homemade cupcakes to school for the Election Day bake sale, watched the bake table for an hour, voted (no line, yay!), got back in the car, drove half an hour to a swing state, dropped off a bunch of garbage bags at the local Obama field office (for use as rain ponchos later in the day), did phone banking until the nugget woke up and ended that mode of volunteering, then drove back home for a quick lunch before picking up Indi!kid. I'm tired already - however am I going to manage to stay up to see the results?! :0D
I'm toying with the idea of going back to [swing state to the south] in the evening to hand out more trash bags ponchos and maybe hot drinks to voters in line, since it looks to be wet out tonight. That, or take Indi!kid and drive past some polling places or campaign offices, since she didn't get to see us vote this morning.
Oh! Did I mention that someone gave me a "Vote" pin this morning? I was manning the bake sale and admired a woman's pin - she took it off and gave it to me. I feel more than amply rewarded for doing my civic duty today. *twirls*
