According to CNN.com, Obama won 51% of the popular vote, over McCain's 48%, but took 338 Electoral College votes to McCain's 155. (As of writing, not all states had reported.)
A clear win. But with the populace, not so much. I think Obama is entering a tough uphill climb to win over the other half of the nation. The half that still believes he's an Arab terrorist related to Sadam Hussein by connection of his middle name.
I'm crossing my fingers for him, and glad that at least he has congress on his side, with at least one planned assassination already thwarted.
