Hi guys!
I posted here once, a very long time ago, and it's good to see this community is still thriving :)
I have a request for help. I'm not making a mix, nor do I want one made for me (which is why I hope this is allowed!). As a final for one of my classes, I have to create a movement piece based on a childhood memory. We have to find a picture related to that memory (which should be of us), a poem, and music. The latter is why I'm posting here; I'm wondering if you kats and kittens, who are clearly more music-savvy than I, could take a look at this picture and suggest some music that I could include in my movement piece?
Here's the pic:
(yes that's me as a baby XD)
The memory is my first time touching grass. I was born in NYC. My parents took me to Central Park and placed me down in the grass. It was the most amazing thing I had ever felt in my short life. I'm not sure how old I was, but it was my first real memory, and even then I only have a vague recollection of it.
I would like the song to be nostalgic, sort of giving the impression that yes, this moment is a beautiful, marvelous thing, but it's ephemeral, as childhood is. A very good friend of mine gave me a song that I am leaning towards using, but I'd love some other suggestions as well, as aside from the music I use as background for my movement piece, I also need to sing something a cappella.
The song that my friend gave me is "Pitter Patter Goes My Heart" by Broken Social Scene. It's entirely instrumental, and calls to mind a sunset, or a flower blooming in fast motion photography. If anyone wants it, let me know ♥
Thanks so much for your help!
Linds.
